In line with Ystad Municipality's Environment Programme and future waste management system is one of the environmental objectives of sustainable consumption. One way of Ystad Municipality to work with waste minimization is to implement a recycling system internally within the municipality, says Andreaz Strömgren, Planning Manager in Ystad
To focus on waste minimization and recycling goes in line with the EU disposalhierki and is an obvious focus for us in Ystad, continues Andreaz Strömgren, when asked about why Ystad now chosen to autumn implement the system off2off offer.
By showing that as the municipality take responsibility and show the way how to work towards a sustainable consumption internally within the municipal organization gives also good signals to residents. Network for wasteprevention
On 12 March, The Swedish Waste Management and Recycling organisation (Avfall Sverige) network for waste prevention had a conference and our CEO Fredrik Östlin participated. The day featured many interesting discussions and talks mainly about the circular economy, where the following issues were held.
1. What can we change in our community / organization?
2. Where can we start?
3. What can we buy?
Our president raised the issue of purchase to another level and summarizes it below.
-We have to stop talking purchasing process as a whole. It is necessary, the process that is the big picture where the purchase can be a part! We first need to make visible and match the functional surplus available within the organization, before we start talking any purchases, says Fredrik Östlin, off2offs CEO.

Nordic Council of Ministers asking for off2off's knowledge
Our CEO Fredrik Östlin participated April 28, as a special guest as one of five Swedish companies, at the workshop "Moving Towards a Circular Economy - The New Nordic Business Models for Resource Efficiency and Waste Prevention" by the Nordic Council of Ministers organized.
Keynote speaker was Sandy Rodger, Lead, Project Mainstream, Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Oksana Mont, Professor, Researcher on New Business Models and Circular Economy, Lund University. The presentations highlighted off2off up as a clear example of circular economy.

Municipality of Upplands Väsby steps up
As the first SÖRAB-municipality*,Upplands Väsby now steps up in the waste-hierarchy and increases its reuse.
This makes Upplands Vasby including by signing agreements with off2off as a natural part of achieving milestones in 2016 in the SÖRAB-joint waste plan, to increase reuse, there are established recycling activities for municipal operations (5.3)

MISTRA supports circular economy
Mistra Board has decided to invest more than 42 million over four years in research REES (Resource-Efficient and Effective Solutions based on circular economy thinking) with Linköping University as the main applicant and off2off participates as one of the leading companies in the area.
- Glad to our knowledge is valued and we see that off2off can this program help even more impact in the community in the way of a circular economy, says Fredrik Östlin, off2offs president.
The purpose of this initiative is that with knowledge and innovative ideas contribute to the development of a circular economy, ie a society based on closed material flows.
Mistra announced in September 2014 a program for Product Design and resource efficiency towards a circular economy. When the application period expired had four consortia submitted proposals. REES (Resource-Efficient and Effective Solutions based on circular economy thinking), according to an international panel of experts, considered to be the strongest proposal.
- Linköping University, together with Lund University and Chalmers University of Technology submitted an application that clearly integrates product and service design and development of business models and policy. The application additionally has the strong support of the industry makes it a winner, says Åke Iverfeldt, Mistra's CEO.
The consortium consists not only of the three academic partners of a large number of companies (including off2off, Attends Healthcare AB Ericsson AB HTC Sweden AB, Inrego, STATE Tall MA AB, AB Volvo and Volvo Car Group) as well as some organizations and municipalities . With co-financing from participating companies and academic partners is the program's total budget of approximately 80 million.
- There is a great need for research on how we can design products in a smart and sustainable way to reduce consumption of resources. We are pleased to now be able to launch this program, says Åke Iverfeldt, Mistra's Managing Director.

A good example and good interagency cooperation for the circular economy
At the september 15 the Environmental Protection Agency released a publication to the Ministry of the Environment "Proposed measures for a more sustainable consumption" and mentioned off2off as a good example and good inter-agency cooperation for the circular economy.
